Chin Augmentation or genioplasty is a surgical procedure designed to reshape or increase the size of the chin for projection or appearance. It can balance the profile by extending the chin in relationship to the nose. This procedure is performed as an outpatient and can be done under general or local anesthesia. Tape may be placed on the skin for several days to keep the implant positioned.
Recovery is almost immediate. Activities are usually resumed within a few days and most people are able to return to work at that time.
